Buxton Books is proud to welcome Lynn Seldon to the bookstore for a signing celebrating his recent release, Carolina’s Ring! This is a free, drop-in event with no RSVP required.
On Saturday, April 22, Lynn Seldon, author of 100 Things to Do in Charleston Before You Die (a Buxton Books customer favorite) and Virginia’s Ring, will be in the bookstore to celebrate his recent release, Carolina’s Ring!
Lynn’s mentor, Pat Conroy, called Virginia’s Ring, “A triumph and a tour de force.” Lynn wrote most of Carolina’s Ring in Conroy’s book-lined Beaufort office, an experience he recently wrote about for Garden & Gun.
Lynn will be mingling and signing books between 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Come join us, have a glass of lemonade, and get your copy of Carolina’s Ring (as well as Lynn’s other titles) signed! We hope to see you there.
About Carolina’s Ring:
CAROLINA'S RING is a modern coming-of-age story between Carolina Stone and childhood friends, twin brothers Ben and Alf Marshall. With unexpected life-or-death events shaping their futures, Carolina's Ring follows these three friends from the foothills of South Carolina to the campuses of the Virginia Military Institute and the Citadel, and ultimately to the Global War on Terrorism in Iraq and beyond.
About Lynn Seldon:
A 1983 graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Lynn got his start while stationed in Germany as a young Army officer looking for some excitement and a creative outlet. During his weekend jaunts throughout Europe, he decided to start writing about his travel experiences. On a lark, he sent a few articles to Stars & Stripes, the daily newspaper for the Armed Forces. From that, a successful full-time career in travel writing and photography developed.
Lynn has spent the past 30+ years covering all aspects of travel writing and photography. He focuses on travel within the Southeast US and the Caribbean, cruise ship travel, soft adventure (including scuba diving, hiking, mountain biking, and boating), spa travel and culinary travel. Whether an exotic cruise ship port in South America or a charming little cooking school in Tennessee, Lynn covers the world and his own backyard.
Along with his with co-author, business partner, and wife, Cele, Lynn’s work has appeared in more than 500 publications, including: Southern Living; Cruise Travel; Outside; Wine Enthusiast; Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel; Scuba Diving; Dayspa; Porthole; Atlanta Journal-Constitution; Charlotte Observer; USA Today; various in-flight publications; and many AAA magazines. Lynn and Cele have also co-authored several travel books, including their bestselling 100 Things to Do in Charleston Before You Die.
Virginia's Ring is his first novel, and he has channeled his college experiences and those of other male and female graduates into a compelling novel that delves into the decisions we make that impact our lives forever.
