Join us for a luncheon at High Cotton as we welcome Lee Matalone to Charleston with her debut novel, Home Making. Lee will be talking about the inception of her new novel and performing a short reading.
Lee Matalone's writing has been featured in The Offing, Lit Hub, The Rumpus, Denver Quarterly, and Hobart, among other places. She lives in South Carolina and teaches at Clemson University.
Home Making has been listed by The Millions as one of their Most Anticipated Books in February. Weike Wang, author of Chemistry calls it, "An intricate exploration of family and home, of mother and child, of friends, of women and written with both precision and style."
Through her characters: Beau, Chloe, and Cybil, Matalone weaves a moving, beautiful narrative of home, identity, and belonging. Home Making is a somber, yet hopeful, ode to the stories we tell ourselves in order to make a family.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets are $32, which includes a full lunch at High Cotton. Signed copies of Home Making will be available for purchase at the event. To purchase your ticket, click here.
